Biography
Bede Ukwuije, a Spiritan, is a professor and vice chair of the Department of Theology. Ordained a Catholic priest on July 31, 1994, he became a missionary in France for 12 years, serving as Students鈥 Chaplain at the University of Rennes II, Chaplain of African Migrants鈥 Community in the dioceses of Rennes and Nanterre, and Formator at the Spiritan Formation Community in Clamart. He was also Associate priest at Ste Madeleine Parish, Ch芒tenay-Malabry (1999-2005).
He taught Systematic Theology at the Institut Catholique de Paris and the Spiritan International School of Theology, Attakwu Enugu (SIST), Nigeria. He was also Guest Professor at the McGrath Institute for Church Life, University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, USA in the year 2022.
He served as the First Assistant to the Superior General of the Spiritans in Rome (2012-2021) and member of the Theological Commission of the Union of Superiors General (2016-2019).
